24 chic, modern engagement rings for engagement season.

Did you know that November – February is called engagement season? That’s because 40% of engagements happen between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day.

That means that a whooooole lot of people are going to be picking out engagement rings right about now! I think that’s a great excuse for us to ogle a whole big batch of engagement rings. We’re keeping it all modern today: you know I love vintage and antique engagement rings, but the contemporary styles are fun to look at too!

I do feel that we’re in kind of a golden age for engagement rings: the internet makes wedding planning harder in some ways, but it also opened up worlds of possibility for lovebirds on the hunt for just the right engagement ring. With traditional wedding-related rules bending and breaking all over the place, there’s never been a better time to go for the engagement ring you truly want instead of the one that tradition says you should have.

While I’m a huge fan of nontraditional engagement rings, we’re going to keep things simple today by looking at variations of the iconic theme: classic diamond engagement rings.

Tow very beautiful and very dissimilar engagement rings to kick things off! The Art Deco-inspired beauty on the left is by Nicole Rose Jewelry, the ultra-chic pear cut diamond beauty is by Jade Trau.

Three MAJOR engagement rings by Harry Kotlar. These babies are no joke.

Harry Kotlar’s specialty is diamond cut, so you can also bet that these center stones aren’t just impressive in size, but they definitely all sparkle like crazy.

I love an engagement ring with a pop of color! These two are great examples of what colored gem side stones can accomplish.

The sapphire and diamond ring on the left is by Tacori, the amethyst and diamond on the right is by Kirk Kara.

These little lovelies by Jennie Kwon are a great reminder that an engagement ring doesn’t need a big honking center stone to be special. Aren’t they gorgeous? 

Oh hello, you beauties.

The one on the left here is a big bombshell: it’s by Mark Patterson, and it’s an exquisite design that features both rose gold and platinum. The pretty, frilly ring on the right is a yellow gold engagement ring by Mars Fine Jewelry.

This rose gold engagement ring by Danhov is so romantic I had to show you every single angle.

I’ve seen this piece in person and it was absolutely impossible to take a picture of it that did it any justice. So delicate and pretty!

These two are examples of what I think of as “classic with a twist” style. They have the same vibe as an iconic engagement ring, but they don’t look like anything you’ve seen before.

The one on the left is by Erika Winters, and the one on the right – which I could NOT resist showing you even though I said I was going to stick to diamond center stones – is a sapphire engagement ring by GiGi Ferranti.

These may be colorful, but they’re alllllllll diamond. I have a particular weakness for that pink marquise cut center stone. So glam!

I love Adel Chefridi‘s designs.

There’s something chill about them, even though they’re so elegant and really quite romantic. I especially love the bezeled halo of the one on the left and the tapered shoulders and creatively set center stone of the yellow diamond ring on the right.

Two beautiful, haunting engagement rings by Anthony Lent. I have a particular weakness for those dainty golden hands.

These edgy Anthony Lent rings aren’t for everyone, but I bet they’re absolutely perfect for someone.

Two takes on the round center diamond to finish things up! These beauties by Vivaan both feature rose cut center diamonds, an antique cut that’s been enjoying a renaissance in recent years. I love cuts and I love seeing this romantic stone in these edgy, modern settings.
